Question 462668: The mean number of hours worked for the 30 males was 6, and for the 20 females was 9. What is the overall mean of hours worked
Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The total number of hours for males is 6*30 = 180, while for the females it is 9*20 = 180. Total number of hours for all is then 180 + 180 = 360 hours. There are 30+20 = 50 people all in all. Hence the overall mean is 360/50 = 7.2 hours.
