Question 462482: can you help me figure out the rest of this problem?
the venn diagram below. the numbers represent the regions.
circle a=40,circle b=80 and the area where the circles intersect is 10.
DETERMINE:
n(A)
n(B)
Answer by math-vortex(648) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In the venn diagram below, the numbers represent the regions.
circle a=40,circle b=80 and the area where the circles, c, intersect is 10.
.
DETERMINE:
n(A)
n(B)
----------------------------------
(read more below diagram...)
n(A) is all the 40 elements of only set A, plus the 10 belonging to set A AND set B. So,
n(A) = 40 + 10 = 50
.
n(B) works the same way; it's the 80 elements of only set B plus the 10 elements belonging to set A AND set B.
n(B) = 80 + 10 = 90
.
hope this helps!
