Question 455681: USA Today reported that approximately 25% of all state prison inmates released on parole become repeat offenders while on parole. Suppose the parole board is examining five prisoners up for parole.
Let x = number of prisoners out of five on parole who become repeat offenders.
x 0 1 2 3 4 5
P(x) 0.202 0.388 0.215 0.163 0.031 0.001
Compute σ, the standard deviation of the number of repeat offenders out of five. (Round your answer to two decimal places.)
σ = ???? prisoners
How Do I figure out the 0 sigma, standard of deviation. I thought it was 1.71 or 1.87, but none of those are correct. Please advise. I am using a TI84 plus calculator and can not figure out this problem.
Thanks!

---------------
I put 0-5 in L1
and the P(x) numbers in L2
and ran STAT;1-Var Stats L1,L2
to get Sigmax = 1.083469
