Question 448032: if the probability of a child being a girl is 1/2, and a family plans to have 4 children, what are the odds aganist having all girls?
Answer by htmentor(1343) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The probability of having all girls is
1/2*1/2*1/2*1/2 = 1/16
Therefore, the probability of NOT having all girls is
P(not all girls) = 1 - 1/16 = 15/16
