Question 446393: Consider set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}. If a number designated 'a' is chosen from the set of numbers, and then another number designated 'b' is chosen, what is the probability that (a/b) will be an integer?
I did all numbers that could get me an integer, but then none of my answers match up with any of the answer choices.

Consider set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}. If a number designated 'a' is chosen from the set of numbers, and then another number designated 'b' is chosen, what is the probability that (a/b) will be an integer?
----
Dividing by 1 you get 6 integers
Dividing by 2 you get 3 integers
Dividing by 3 you get 2 integers
Dividing by 4 you get 1
Dividing by 5 you get 1
Dividing by 6 you get 1
---
Total integer results = 14
----------------------------------
Totoal unresticted results:
Dividing every number by 1 you get 6
Diviging every number by 2 you get 6
Each digit results in 6 fractions
Total = 6*6 = 36
==============================================
Propability = 14/36 = 7/18
