Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
over a yr period 20% of the cars will need to be repaired once,
7% repairs twice, 3% will require three or more.
if you own two cars what is the probability that neither will need to be repaired?
I figured out the probability for one car but dont understand how to get 2 cars.
-------------
You have to assume that repairs on cars are independent events;
my lemon does make your car a lemon.
-----
P(a car will need repair) = 0.30
---
P(2 need repairs) = 0.3^2 = 0.09
