Question 411642: There are 7 yellow, 6 blue, 9 red and 3 green ribbons in a drawer. Once a ribbon is selected, it is not replaced. Find P(2 red ribbons). Can you help me understand this Please?
Answer by sudhanshu_kmr(1152)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
for P(2 red ribbons) both ribbons must be red.
probability that first is red = 9/ 25

probability that second is also red = 8/24
(as ribbon not replaced, after taking first only 8 red ribbons in total 24 )

for P(2 red ribbons) both event must be occur

so P(2 red ribbons) = (9/25) * (8/24) = 3/25

there r many methods to solve it, try to understand the concept..
for any problem , u r welcome to contact.....
