What would the formula be for solving this problem. I know that there are 9 chances that he will win because the sum of 2 and 7. Where do I go from there? I need the formula so I can show my work. Thank you for your help!

Paul has 7 of those 9 "chances" so the probability he wins is 7/9. Therefore the probability he doesn't win is 1 - 7/9, or 2/9.
