To understand this a Venn diagram should be used.
.70+.65+.27=1.62
Since the probability of passing E only + M only + both E & M + neither E nor M must add up to 1 then P(EnM)=.62 ANSWER
(P(E)=.08 + P(M)=.03 + P(EnM)=.62 + P(EnM)'=.27) = 1.00
