Question 348497: Please show me how to calculate this...
Variables x & y have r=.52
If we decrease each x value by .1 and double each y value, the new correlation will be___________?

Thanks so much!!

Correlation (r) is not affected by changes in the center or scale of either variable. Changing units of either or both variables, or even switching axis' will have no affect on the (r)correlation, so the correlation coefficient would be the same r=.52
