For this problem, assume the balls in the box
are numbered 1 through 7, and that an experiment consists of randomly
selecting 3 balls one after another without replacement.
(1) How many outcomes does this experiment have?
Ans: 7C3 = (7*6*5)/(1*2*3) = 35
------------------------------------------
(2) What probability should be assigned to each outcome?
Ans: 1/35
------------------------------------------
(3) What probability should be assigned to the event that at least one ball has
an odd number?
There are 3 odd numbered balls.
So only one selection will not have an odd-numbered ball in it.
Ans: 34/35
