A) 40% of the freshman class are men, so 25% of 40% = 10% of the total student body. Likewise, 10% of 60% is 6%. 10+6 = 16 so A) = 16%
B) 10% of the student body are males studying math; 6% are females studying math. The ratio of women to men in mathematics is 6:10. Suppose that the entire student body is 100 people. There are 10 male, and 6 female math students. = 0.375, or 38% so B) = 38%
