Question 269149: I need help with this question, please.
Various temperature measurements are recorded at different times for a particular city. The mean of 21°C is obtained for 32 temperatures on 32 different days. Assuming that σ = 1.5°C, test the claim that the population mean is actually less than 22°C. Use a 0.05 significance level.

---------------
Ho: u >= 22
H1: u < 22 (claim)
-----
Crit. Val for left tail test when alpha = 5% and df = 31:
invT(0.05,31)= -1.6955
--------
Test Stat: t(21) = (21-22)/[1.5/sqrt(32)] = -3.7712
----------------
Conclusion: Since ts is less than cv, reject Ho.
The test supports the claim.
