A lock consists of a dial that can be set to any of the numbers 1 – 30. How many different three-number combinations are possible?
my guess is 30*29*28=24360 is this even close?
-----
If no repeated digits the answer is 24360 because
The 1st digit can be any of 30
The 2nd digit can be any of 29
The 3rd digit can be any of 28
-----------------
If digits can be repeated the answer is 30^3 = 27000
