Question 266023: Determine the correct decision (Reject Jo, or Fail to Reject Ho) for each of the following tests of hypotheses.
I have tried to get these and I am not sure what but the formulas are not coming back with a good response for me to make a determination.
A hypothesis test at the 0.05 level of significance with a p-value for the sample of 0.105.
A hypothesis test at the 0.025 level of significance with a p-value for the sample of 0.002.
A two-tailed hypothesis test at the 0.05 level of significance where the initial probability calculated for the test statistic is 0.035.
A two-tailed hypothesis test with critical values of +/- 2.33 and a test statistic for the sample of -2.56.
A one tailed hypothesis test with a critical value of 2.306 and a test statistic for the sample of 1.652.
A one tailed hypothesis test with a critical value of -1.796 and a test statistic for the sample of -.843

Determine the correct decision (Reject Ho, or Fail to Reject Ho) for each of the following tests of hypotheses.
I have tried to get these and I am not sure what but the formulas are not coming back with a good response for me to make a determination.
------------------------
A hypothesis test at the 0.05 level of significance with a p-value for the sample of 0.105.
Do not reject because p-value is greater than alpha
-----------------------------------------------------------
A hypothesis test at the 0.025 level of significance with a p-value for the sample of 0.002.
Reject Ho because p-value < 0.025
----------------------------------------
A two-tailed hypothesis test at the 0.05 level of significance where the initial probability calculated for the test statistic is 0.035.
p-value = 2*0.035 = 0.070
Fail to reject because p-valu > 5%
-------------------------------------------------
A two-tailed hypothesis test with critical values of +/- 2.33 and a test statistic for the sample of -2.56.
Reject Ho because ts in the reject interval to the left of -2.33
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
A one tailed hypothesis test with a critical value of 2.306 and a test statistic for the sample of 1.652.
Fail to reject because ts not in reject interval above 2.306
---------------------------------------------------------
A one tailed hypothesis test with a critical value of -1.796 and a test statistic for the sample of -.843
Fail to reject because ts is not in reject interval to the left of -1.796
---------------------------------
Suggestion: Sketch these conditions on a normal curve to see why the
conclusion is what it is.

Stan H.
