Question 255643: Compute the variance of the probability distribution in the table below.
Outcome / Probability
60 / 0.2
61 / 0.1
62 / 0.2
63 / 0.5

This is what I did/ got for an answer:
The mean is 62.. so
Var(x)= (60-62)^2(.2)+(61-62)^2(.1)+(62-62)^2(.2)+(63-62)^2(.5)
=-0.4
Am I right?

The method is correct but I get 1.4 when I add the terms.
