An easier way to approach this problem would be to work backwards.
What is the probability of getting a ten?
First of all, in how many ways can you get a score of 10?
6,4
4,6
5,5 which means 3 ways.
Since we are throwing two 6 faced die, total number of ways of getting a value = 6x6 = 36
Which means the probability of throwing a 10 is =
Now, the number of ways of not getting a 10 will be Total Probability - Total Probability of throwing a 10
= =
