in a certain distrubution of numbers, the mean is 50 and the standard deviation is 6.What can you say about the percentage of numbers that lie between 38 and 62?

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
in a certain distribution of numbers, the mean is 50 and the standard deviation is 6.
What can you say about the percentage of numbers that lie between 38 and 62?
---------------------
Find the z-value of 38 and of 63
------------------------------------
z(38) = (38-50)/6 = -12/6 = -2
---
z(62) = (62-50)/6 = 12/6 = 2
------------------------------------
P(38 < x < 62) = P(-2 < z < 2) = 0.9545
