A jogger and a walker cover the same distance. The jogger finishes in 40 minutes. THe walker takes an hour. How fast is each exerciser moving if the jogger runs 2mph faster than the walker?

Walker DATA:
rate = x mph ; time = 1 hr. ; distance = rt = x miles
---------------------------------------------------------------
Jogger DATA:
rate = x+2 mph ; time = (2/3) hr. ; distance = (2/3)(x+2) miles

Equation:
distance = distance
x = (2/3)(x+2)
3x = 2x+4
x = 4 mph (Walker's rate)
x+2 = 6 mph (Jogger's rate)
