Gender of Children: Constructing Sample Space. This section included a table summarizing the gender outcomes for a couple planning to have three children.
a. Construct a similar table for a couple planning to have four children
1st column: b : g
2nd column: put a b and a g branch on b and on g
3rd column: put a b and g banch of each of the b's and each of the g's
4th column: Do the same thing again
You should end up with 16 branches in the 4th column
-----------------------------------------
b. Assuming that the putcomes listed in part (a) are equally likely, find the probability of getting exactly two girls and two boys.
P(2g and 2b) = 4C2(1/2)^2*(1/2)^2 = 6/16 = 3/8
-----------------------------------------
c. Find the probability that the four children are all boys
P(4 boys) = 1/16
