The probability that none of them are defective is the same as the probability that they are all good. If the probability that one is defective is 0.08, then the probability that one is good is 1 - 0.08 = 0.92. Since a given battery being either good or defective is independent of whether any other battery is good or defective, the four batteries are independent events.

Hence the probability of them all being good (and therefore the probability that none are defective) is:
