Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you were to roll two dice 6,000 times what is the
probability of getting a 2-12?
------
Draw a 6 by 6 rectangle listing the sums you can get
when you roll 2 dice.
You get:
2,3,4,5,6,7
3,4,5,6,7,8
4,5,6,7,8,9
5,6,7,8,9,10
6.7.8.9.10.11
7,8,9,10,11,12
=======================
Then:
The probability of getting a 2 is 1/36
The probability of getting a 3 is 2/36
The probability of getting a 4 is 3/36
...
The probability of getting a 7 is 6/36
The probability of getting an 8 is 5/36
...
The probability of getting an 11 is 2/36
The probability of getting a 12 is 1/36
==========================
So the number of 2's out of 6000 is (1/36)6000 = 166
The number of 3's out of 6000 is (2/36)6000 = 333
Number of 4's is (3/36)6000 = 500
etc.
