Question 191532: x(bar) = 11.3
H0 = 10
S = 3.1
n = 60
What is the p-value for this problem?? And how would I go from the z-stat to it because when I look it up in the z-table, it gives me the wrong answer...

You can put this solution on YOUR website! x(bar) = 11.3
H0 = 10
S = 3.1
n = 60
What is the p-value for this problem??
---------------------
That depends on whether you conduct a one-tail or a 2 tail test.
t(11.3) = (11.3-10)/[3.1/sqrt(60)] = 3.24831
-------------------
If you are conducting a right-tail test,
the p-value is P(t > 3.24831 with df = 59) = 0.0009589
----------------------
If you are conducting a 2-tail test,
the p-value is 2 times that number, or 0.00192
