Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The appropriate "null hypothesis" for a lower-tail test to determine if mean body weight of all the women who have joined a health club is less than 150 pounds would be
a. H0: (Mu)greater than or equal to 150 lb.
b. H0: (Mu) < 150 lb.
c. H0: (Mu) = 150 lb.
d. H0: (Mu)not equal to 150 lb.
*I was thinking (a.), is this the correct answer?
-------------------
It depends on your textbook and/or you instructor.
Some books would say "a" is the answer ; some
would say "c" is the answer ; and still others
would say "a" or "c" is the answer.
----------------------
I have seen both choices used.

Stan H.
