I am pretty sure I know how to do this, but I just want to double check because I am still confused.
Tommy is playing a carnival game. Ten $5 bills, ten $10 bills, and ten $20 bills are in a box. while blindfolded, Tommy must take out one bill at a time from the box. The game ends when Tommy removes three of the same type of bills. What is the greatest amount of money Tommy can win if he wins all the money he draws?

It sounds like the most money he can draw before ending
the game is:
since the next bill he draws will
make 3 of something
The most he can win is $70 (I hope I'm not confused)

Here's the best case scenario (for the player)


Player draws one $20 bill, one $10 bill, then one $5 bill. He currently has $35.


Player draws another $20 bill, another $10 bill, then another $5 bill. He currently has $70.


Finally, the player draws one more $20 bill. Since the player has 3 $20 bills, this means that the game ends. So the player has a total of $90.


So the greatest amount of money that the player can win is $90.
