These are really all the same problem with different numbers. I'll show you how to do the first one:


1.A menu has 3 appetizers, 5 salads, 7 entrees, and 4 desserts. How many different meals can be made from this menu?

Pick the appetizer first, you have 3 ways to do that. Then, for each of those 3 ways to pick the appetizer, there are 5 ways to pick the salad -- so far, 15 ways to go. Now for each of those 15 ways, there are 7 ways to pick the entree...

See the pattern?

The answer is to be found in the product:

You can do your own arithmetic.

One thing to remember when you are doing number 4. Once you have picked a president, then there are only 22 people left to choose from. Once you have picked a president and a vice-president, there are only 21 people left, and so on.
