: 1.)The blue cube show a multiple of 3, and the sum is 8.
>>>P(blue multiple of 3)=2/6=1/3
>>>P(sum is 8 | blue multiple of 3 ) =2/12=1/6
>>>P(blue multiple of 3 and sum is 8)=
P(blue multiple of 3)*P(sum is 8 | blue multiple of 3) = (1/3)*(1/6)=1/18
My question: Do you know how 2/6 and 2/12 came from?
Can you explain?
Please answer me as soon as you could.
Thank you for your help.

Comment: If you list the sample space on this type of problem you
can usually make the counts required to calculate the probabilities:
Blue Cube: 1,2,3,4,5,6
Multiples of 3 are 3 and 6 so number of those is 2.
So, P(blue multiple of 3) = 2/6
---
Note: This is based on only throwing the blue die.
If you are thowing a blue die and another die the
Probability would be (# of pairs with blue 3 or 6)/(36) = 12/36= 1/3
-------------------------------------------------------
Regarding (sum is 8|blue multiple of 3)
Blue multiples of 3 are 3 and 6
Pairs with that condition are (3,1),(3,2),(3,3)...(3,6)
and (6,1),(6,2)...(6,6)
Number of those is 12
How many have a sum of 8?;;;only (3,5) and (6,2)
Number of those is 2
So, P(sum is 8 |blue multiple of 3) = 2/12 = 1/6
