Question 171181: I'm lost on a portion of this question. Will you please help!!
Find the mean, median, mode and standard deviation of the data. Round to the nearest hundreth, if necessary. (The data is as follows:
456
306
160
363
376
935
54
349
I came up with the mean=374.88
I cam up with the mdeian=354.5
The mode I got 0 because no number was repeated
Now how do I do the standard deviation? Will please show me the steps to find the standard deviation?
Thanks so much
Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you are correct about the mean and the mode.
:
the median however is found by taking the middle value from an ascending order of numbers. 349+363/2=356 we had to take the 4th and 5th terms and average them since there is an even number in the group.
:
standard deviation takes some work but does have a formula
:
for this group it is 243.67
standard deviation =where is each term in the group and n is the number of terms in the group
