c) S and T must be independent, that's the defintion of mutually exclusive.
As an example, when I roll a die, I can't roll a 1 and a 6, just like I can't roll an even and an odd number.
However, when I draw a card from a standard deck, I can draw a red card and a Queen (queen of diamonds, queen of hearts).
