You have 4 different things in your wallet, each of which has an equally likely chance of being chosen. Selecting any one of three of them would be considered a success in this experiment, because three of the four objects has a value less than $20. So your probability is . The monetary value of the objects makes no difference. The problem would be exactly the same if you had 4 different colored pieces of paper in your wallet and you wanted to know the probability of selecting any color except for, say, yellow.
