What is the probability that Maxim reaches in the bag and randomly selects a chocolate chip cookie from the bag, eats it, then reaches back in the bag and randomly selects a peanut butter cookie?

The total number of cookies in the bag is 7+7+4+5 = 23.


The answer to the problem's question is

    P =  = 0.09684  (rounded).    ANSWER

The formula is self-explanatory.

Notice that in the formula, the second denominator is 1 less than first denominator.
