Question 1195730: The probability that a patient recovers from a certain type of operation is 0.79. What is the probability that 3 of the next 4 patients who have this operation survived? & what is the probability that all of the next 4 patients who have this operation survive?
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
probability that all 4 will survive is 0.79^4=0.3895
probability that 3 of the 4 will survive is 4*0.79^3*0.21, the 4 coming from 4 different ways that can happen or 4C3.
This is 0.4142.
