They randomly selected 28 commuters and found the average is 50 minutes with a standard deviation of 6 minutes. At alpha=0.05, are they correct?

Ho: mean is 45 min
Ha: mean >45 min
alpha=0.05 p{reject Ho|Ho true}
test is a t df=27
reject if t>1.703
calculation t=(diff in mean)/sqrt (V)
=(50-45)/6/sqrt(28)
=5 sqrt (28)/6
=4.41
reject Ho and conclude there has been a difference, and the time is greater. p-value < 0.0001
