Question 1189156: For the data set: 21,24,19,32,15,43,38,39,
I don't understand how the lower quartile is 20 and how the upper is 35. Since the median would be (24+29)/2 = 26.5, wouldn't that mean Q1 = 19 and Q3 = 38? Please just explain that part!

To find the lower quartile of a set of data, we can find the median of the data and then find the median of the first half.
