Find the point estimate for the birth weights. Round your answer to 2 decimal places.

Determine the value of tc. Round your answer to 5 decimal places.

Find the margin of error for the confidence interval. Round your answer to 1 decimal place.

Construct the confidence interval for birth weights. Enter your answer as an open interval of the form (a,b) and round to the nearest integer.

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Here is how you do this;
Put the numbers into the calculator
Use 1-variable statistics which will give you the mean, which is the point estimate you want.
Use s, not sigma, for your sd.
The margin of error is t(0.975, df=25)*s/sqrt(n). The t-value is 2.06, n=26
add and subtract the margin of error to and from the mean for your interval.
Check it by doing a confidence interval on your calculator for the data, which skips all those steps, but it is worth while doing this by hand to see that you get the same result.
