A confidence interval always has p̂ in the exact middle of the interval.

To find the middle, average the lower and upper bounds, 0.026 and 0.120:



So p̂ = 0.073

The value of E is the difference in absolute value between p̂ and either
bound. 

E = |0.120-0.073| = |0.026-0.120| = 0.047

so in the form

p̂ − E < p < p̂ + E

0.073 - 0.047 < p < 0.073 + 0.047

        .026 < p < 0.120
