Question 1170918: What is the probability of drawing a spade, king, or three of diamonds? Found 2 solutions by Boreal, Alan3354:Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 13 ways to draw a spade, 4 for a king (but subtract 1 for the KS), and 1 3 of diamonds for 17/52.
P(A or B or C) is p(A)+p(B)+p(C)-p ( A and B)-p(A and C)-p(B and C)-p(all three)
=13/52+4/52+1/52-1/52=17/52. Only the King of Spades is part of two groups. The others are mutually exclusive.
