Question 1167757: According to the Fiji Diabetes Association, 23.1% of Fijians aged 60 years or older had diabetes
in 2017. A recent random sample of 200 Fijians aged 60 years or older showed that 52 of them
have diabetes. Using a 5% significance level, perform a test of hypothesis to determine if the
current percentage of Fijians aged 60 years or older who have diabetes is higher than that in
2017. Use the P-value method.

Ho: p<=0.231
Ha: p>0.231
alpha=0.05 p{reject Ho|Ho true}
test stat is 1-tail 1 sample proportion z-test
critical value is z > 1.645
calc is z=(phat-0.231)/sqrt (p*(1-p)/n)
p hat is 52/200=0.26
so z=0.029/sqrt (0.231*0.769/200)
=0.029/0.0298
=0.973.
Fail to reject Ho
p-value is (z>0.973) or 0.165, and that is >0.05
