Question 1161756: A U.S. Travel Data Center survey reported that Americans stayed an average of 7.5 nights when they went on vacation. The sample size was 1500. Find a point estimate of the population mean. Find the 95% confidence interval of the true mean. Assume the population standard deviation was 0.8
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The point estimate is the 7.5 nights.
95% CI half interval is z*sigma/sqrt(n)
=1.96*0.8/sqrt(1500)=0.040
so 95% CI is (7.46, 7.54) nights
