The percentage that purchase either a golf club or golf balls or both is (10+30)-6 = 34.

(Count the customers who buy a golf club and add the number who buy golf balls; then subtract the number who buy both, because you have counted them twice.)

So the percentage who buy neither is 100-34 = 66.

ANSWER: 66% buy neither golf clubs nor golf balls

.

The percentage of those who bought something (at least one of the two) is

    10% + 30% - 6% = 34%.

The percentage of those who bought nothing is the complement to it, i.e.

    100% - 34% = 66%. ANSWER
