Question 1153540: You are given the following information about the events A, B, and C.
• P(A) = 0.40
• P(B) = 0.76
• P(C) = 0.54
• P(A and B) = 0.2792
• P(B and C) = 0.4104
• P(A and C) = 0.1913
Determine which (if any) pairs of the three events are independent.

.

Two events are INDEPENDENT (are called independent) if and only if

    P(X)*P(Y) = P(X and Y).

Using this definition, you can check if this equality is hold for any of the 3 pairs of given events.

You EASILY can do it on your own, without any help from the outside.
