Question 1147164: The freshness of a product at a superstore is rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being very fresh. From a random sample of 49 customers, the average score was 3.8. The standard deviation of this population is 0.7.
1. Obtain a 95% confidence interval for the population mean, μ, the mean score for the distribution of all possible customers.
2. Does μ lie in your interval obtained in part (i)? Explain.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
interval is +/- z*sigma/sqrt (n) and for 95% CI, half-interval is 1.96*0.7/sqrt(49)
This is 0.196
the 95% CI is mu+/-0.196 or (3.60, 3.80)
