He is authorized to administer a special punishment for this offense. He holds a box containing nine apparently identical chocolates,Three of which are contaminated with a deadly poison. He makes each of you,in turn choose and immediately eat a single chocolate.
1. If you choose first, what is the probability that you survive, given that your sister survives?
2. If you choose first, what is the probability that you will survive?

(2)  You will survive if you randomly choose one of 6 chocolate with no poison among 9 given chocolates.


     Therefore, your probability to survive, at given conditions, is   = .           ANSWER




(1)  The fact that your sister survives means  that she fortunately selects her chocolate among 6 chocolates with no poison.


     It means that YOU select from the remained set of 8 other chocolates containing 3 poisoned chocolates.
