Question 1119777: You are performing a two-tailed test with test statistic z=−2.958, find the p-value accurate to 4 decimal places.
p-value =
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the p-value for a z-score of -2.958 is equal to .0015 rounded to 4 decimal places.
this was determined using the TI-84 Plus scientific calculator.
the calculator told me that the p-value was .0015482793.
this yielded .0015 when rounded to 4 decimal places.
if you looked it up in the normal distribution z-score full table, you would find that:
z-score of -2.95 yielded a p-value of .0016.
z-score of -2.96 yielded a p-value of .0015.
since the z-score of -2.958 is closer to -2.96, you would use .0015 as the p-value.
here's the normal distribution z-score full table that i used.
