Find the other
:
let x = the other number
= 18
160 + x = 11(18)
x = 198 - 160
x = 38 is the other number

the sum of the ten positive numbers = 10 * 16 = 160

let x be the unknown number which was added
:
(160 +x)/11 = 18/1
:
cross multiply the fractions
:
160 +x = 18 * 11 = 198
:
x = 198 -160 = 39
