Question 1111311: Suppose that the correlation r between two quantitative variables was found to be r = 0. This means that:
There is no relationship between the two variables.
There is no linear relationship between the two variables.
There is a strong linear relationship between the two variables.
There is a strong relationship between the two variables.
None of the above.

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
correlation coefficient goes from -1 to 1.
-1 means there's a negative correlation.
1 means there's a positive correlation.
0 means there is no correlation.

here's a reference.

there are many more on the web.

https://campus.fsu.edu/bbcswebdav/users/jcsmith/exp3000/08-correlation/08-notes/08-correlation1.html

the reference gets into more detail than you probably need right now, but the basic lesson is that the relationship between the variables involved can't be determined to be either negative or positive, therefore it's inconclusive, i.e., no strong relationship exists.

here's another reference that may not be as detailed, but still talks about the basic concepgt.

There is a strong relationship between the two variables.
None of the above.
