Question 1103065: A jar contains four white marbles, five red marbles, and six black marbles. If a marble were selected at random each time and recorded and then replace it for 5 times, what is the probability that we have at least one white marble among your selection.
Answer by greenestamps(13203) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(at least one white marble in 5 draws)
= 1 - P(no white marbles in 5 draws)
= 1 - P(every draw is either red or black)
The probability of getting either red or black on each draw is 11/15; the probability of getting red or black on all five draws is (11/15)^5.
So P(at least one white marble in 5 draws) - (to 4 decimal places).
