First notice that there's a King of Club, so we need to be careful with that.
The question need to separate both options, but if we add, we need to subtract the intersection to elude duplicity.
P(Picking a club or a king)= P(Picking A club) + P(Picking a King) - P(Picking the King of Club).
= 1/4 + 1/13 - 1/52 = 4/13.
Note that is the same that counting the cards that works. Every club = 13 cards. Kings= 4 cards, King of Club= 1 card. Total working Cards = 13 + 4 - 1 = 16.
P()= Total Working Cards/Total Cards = 16/52 = 4/13.
So answer is c).
