The records of a department store show that 10% of their customers who make a purchase return the merchandise in order to exchange it. What is the probability that in the next eight purchases how many customers do you expect to return the merchandise?

10% of the store's customers return their merchandise, so in the next 8 transactions you would expect .1 x 8, or .8 of a customer to return their goods (rounded off to 1 person). ☺☺☺☺
