the sample space consists of all possible outcomes of the experiment.

i believe there will be 6 * 6 = 36 possible outcomes.

that's because, for every number from 1 to 6 on the first die, there are 6 possible numbers on the second die.

6 * 6 = 36 possibilities.

they are:

first die is 1, second die is 1 to 6.
first die is 2, second die is 1 to 6.
etc.

the possible numbers are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

the probabilities of getting each are different.

that's because each number is a combination of several outcomes of the roll.

probability of getting a 2 is 1 our of 36 because:
1 + 1 = 2
probability of getting a 3 is 2 out of 36 because:
1 + 2 = 3
2 + 1 = 3
probability of getting a 4 is 3 out of 36 because:
1 + 3 = 4
3 + 1 = 4
2 + 2 = 4
probability of getting a 5 is 4 out of 36 because:
